A leader of the opposition Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) said there isn't sufficient agreement to approve a government plan that would allow private investment in the oil industry, Reforma newspaper reported Feb. 28. About 20 protesters held a demonstration in front of Pemex facilities in the capital of Tamaulipas state demanding an end to the energy reform plans by the government. The facility was not affected. The group said it will hold similar protests in front of Pemex facilities throughout the state, saying it attempting to raise awareness among citizens about the reform plans.
